Niamh Clarke – IMBAS – Creative Spark, Dundalk

QSS artist Niamh Clarke is showing work in the group exhibition IMBAS presented by Creative Spark, Dundalk at An Táin Arts Centre, Dundalk.

Creative Spark Dundalk, proudly presents a new exhibition showcasing the work from their Artist-in-Residence Programme for the year 2022/23. This eagerly anticipated exhibition brings together an extraordinary collection of new works that have been created during the Residency Programme, featuring an impressive range of media such as printmaking, sign writing, photography, and various other traditional methods.

Imbas is an old irish word, it means inspired or inspiration. (often used to refer to creative, poetic and performed wisdom) It comes from the phrase “Imbas Forosnaí “a gift of visionary ability or illuminated inspiration practiced by the gifted poets, writers and artists of ancient Ireland. The Irish word Imbas means inspiration and the Irish word Forosnaí means illuminated.

The artists participating in this exhibition include Louise Gardiner from Co. Meath, Clara McSweeney hailing from Co. Cork, Laura Rafferty representing Co. Down, Niamh Clarke also from Co. Down, Yulia Gasio Ukraine Born, based in California and Scarlett Rebecca based in Wales.
