Sharon Kelly Awarded ACNI Major Individual Award 2023
Huge congratulations to QSS artist Sharon Kelly on being awarded the ACNI Major Individual Award 2023.
Sharon is one of 4 creatives honoured with Major Individual Awards in 2023, this years recipients include acclaimed writer, Jan Carson, poet, Stephanie Conn, and writer Gail McConnell.
The prestigious awards are given in recognition of the contribution each artist has made to creative life in Northern Ireland and makes it possible for them to undertake a substantial, ambitious project that will make a significant impact on the development of their artistic careers.Read more on the Arts Council of Northern Ireland website: Major Individual Award
Sharon will use her MIA funding to research, develop and produce three ambitious sculptural works with a video element, that will form the basis of an installation. The three large-scale 3D forms will become the surface for a projected video element that utilises recorded footage of thermal imagery of the body.
