QSS member Dr. Majella Clancy has been invited to present a paper at the International Congress of Contemporary European Painting, University of Porto, Portugal on Tuesday 21st June.

Clancy’s paper, ‘The Act, The Idea and The Thing: Painting as Research’ considers painting research through the lens of painting as action, agency, and object.

It considers the work of QSS based painter Dr. Susan Connolly and in particular her practice-led PhD ‘Processual Slippage: An Exploration of a Painting Project Making Itself’, Ulster University, (2019).
