“club [construction]” is…
…an interactive installation and ephemeral encounter with queer club spaces of the past, present and future (…?); and the mysticism surrounding the diverse identities, bodies, and energies that are constructed and actualised within these spaces.
“club [construction]” implements a combination of new-media as tools of activation; including (but not limited to…) construction, sculpture, ephemeral-architecture, 3D-CGI (computer-generated) filmography, digital fabrication, experimental sound and atmospheric effects systems, performance, participation, lighting engineering, interview & conversation, and research & documentation.
“club [construction]” is the debut solo-exhibition of Belfast-based artist Reuben Brown, at Arcade Gallery and Studios, Belfast. Reuben Brown (b.2001) is a queer sculptor and new-media artist, specialising in 3D-CGI (computer-generated) filmography, interactive installation and performance. He is currently based at QSS Artist Studios and Gallery (@qssartstudios) in East Belfast, after graduating from Belfast School of Art in Summer 2022.
