Entering the Building
QSS is located on the corner of Bloomfield Avenue and Newtownards Road, Belfast. The entrance to QSS is on the Bloomfield Avenue side, which will be marked by a pavement sign during exhibitions. Our galleries are located on the second floor of The Arches Centre.
During opening events, you will be greeted by staff in the reception area (last admission is 20.30). At other times, please press the QSS buzzer on arrival for access. Go through the first set of glass doors, and you will see the buzzer on your left-hand side. From the reception area, proceed to the 2nd floor using the stairs to your right or the lift at the rear.
Access and Internal Facilities
Please note: Both of our gallery spaces are wheelchair accessible, but the glass front doors are too narrow for wheelchair access if not fully opened. Upon your arrival, please ring or text the number on the front door, and staff will come down and assist you. Please get in touch prior to your visit to ensure access to the building.
There is an accessible bathroom on the second floor, located directly next to the lift.
Large font gallery handouts are available from the foyer.
Transport and Parking
There are good transport links (bus/glider/cycling path) in the vicinity and plenty of shops and cafes.
QSS does not have any designated parking; however, there is ample free on-street parking on Bloomfield Avenue and multiple paid as well as free car parks around Connswater, a short walk from our entrance.
There are a few Blue Badge parking spaces nearby on neighbouring streets. Find them on the Blue Badge Parking Space Map.
