Sharon Kelly – A Splendid Gateway

Rathfarnham Castle presents A Splendid Gateway, a group exhibition featuring fifteen artists from Ireland and the UK, curated by Casey Walshe and Banbha McCann. Showcasing painting, sculpture, works on paper, and installation, the exhibition explores dialogue between contemporary art and the castle’s historic architecture. Rooted in collaboration and DIY culture, A Splendid Gateway reflects the diversity and vitality of Irish art today. Inspired by John D’Alton’s 19th-century description of the castle as “a splendid gateway,” the exhibition invites visitors to experience new perspectives within one of Dublin’s most storied landmarks. Opening Sunday, November 16th, 3pm. Runs until January 4th, 2026.
