Double Feature – Tracy McMenemy
Opens Thursday 23 April, 6:30pm-9pm
‘Double Feature’ is a solo exhibition by QSS artist Tracy Mcmeneny showcasing two series of work: Post No Bills and Folded Earth.
Post No Bills is a collection of paintings and sculptures that explore the fleeting images that cling to city walls or are glimpsed in passing. The work amplifies the tension between public space and intimate gesture, capturing the collisions of torn and layered imagery condensed within a single frame. It invites viewers to reconsider the visual noise of urban life and the quiet afterlives of the images that circulate within it.
Folded Earth is a series of photographic works that engages with and questions our relationships with nature and technology. McMenemy bridges her studio practice with fieldwork, responding directly to photographs she documents in her natural surroundings without removing them from their original context. Each photographic source is transformed through spontaneous gesture, creating a dynamic interplay between observation and intervention.
Runs Saturday 25 – Sunday 26 April, 10am-5pm.
Visual Description: Poster shows a sculpture by the artist and includes key information about the exhibition opening/closing times.
