Passing of founder member Micky Donnelly

QSS is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Belfast born artist Micky Donnelly, who died suddenly on 13th September 2019.

Micky was a founder member of the Artists Collective of Northern Ireland, which incorporated Queen Street Studios, in the early eighties. He was one of the first artists to undertake the MA Fine Art course at Ulster University, and one of the first people to exhibit at the Fenderesky Gallery. Micky was also a recipient of the prestigious Rome Scholarship.

He was and remains an esteemed and well-respected artist, writer and educator. His work has been exhibited widely both nationally and internationally and is held in numerous public and private collections in Ireland and elsewhere.

Micky will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his partner Yvonne, family, friends, and the artistic community across Ireland and beyond.
