Meadhbh McIlgorm exhibiting at Pollen Studios
‘Rituals of Preservation’, a solo show by QSS artist Meadhbh McIlgorm, opens at Pollen Studio Belfast (37-39 Queen St) on Thursday 6th February, 6-9 pm. Taking a craft led approach, Meadhbh’s work explores the lengthy rituals we go to in an attempt to preserve impermanent things such as beauty, memories and relationships.
About the artist:
Meadhbh McIlgorm is a mixed-media artist/maker. She studied Craft Design and History of Art at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, specialising in glass and graduating in 2013 with honours. She received the DCCoI Future Makers Student Award (2013) and has shown work in several national group exhibitions including the RDS Craft Awards, Sculpture in Context (2014), and ‘Solas’ (Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Waterford, 2015/16). Originally from Dublin, she has been living and working in Belfast since 2015. Meadhbh is a member of QSS Artist Studios and currently Studio Manager at Belfast Print Workshop.
