ForM Sculpture Exhibition at Bangor Castle – Kate O’Neill
QSS 2021 Graduate Award Artist Kate O’Neill’s work ‘Brick by Brick’ is one of 28 sculptures to be included in this year’s ForM Sculpture Exhibition, held in the walled gardens of Bangor Castle.
ForM Sculpture Exhibition takes place annually each June and is one of the highlights of Ards and North Down Borough Council’s annual Arts exhibition programme, giving visitors the unique opportunity to experience art in a different context, outside the traditional gallery setting.
The exhibition features 28 sculptures and artworks which were created by artists from across the island of Ireland. The works were inspired by the beautiful surroundings of the garden.
Kate’s piece ‘Brick by Brick’ has been created by hand-carving plants from the walled garden onto terracotta clay slabs. The slabs were then laid out in a brick formation, to blend and grow with the environment.
