In June 2000 Queen Street Studios, Belfast launched a multi-media and Digital Arts Centre which is devoted to the development of in house production and training. Primarily grounded in the Arts this facility provides a programme of Digital Project residencies, innovative training programmes and invaluable open access to Resources and hourly/ daily/ weekly workstation hire. This city centre facility promotes the convergence of art and technology while meeting the expanding need for skills gaining and training in this rapidly advancing field.
The QSDS workstation’s provide access to the latest technology for digital film editing, sound recording and manipulation, DVD authoring, web creation, digital photography and image manipulation, desk top publishing and unlimited internet access.
A quarterly programme of various new media workshops have been designed with access to the technical expertise of our workshop co-ordinators. We have also created an Artist in Residence Bursary in collaboration with the University of Ulster MFA course that is open to year two MFA graduates.
The multi-media centre is actively engaged in developing opportunities for creative exchange and online artistic projects, web design and the potential to learn the latest in Internet technologies.
