Benji De Burca
Benjamin de Burca was born in Germany in 1975 and raised in Ireland. From 1995 to 1999 he studied painting at the Glasgow School of art and was awarded a BA (hons) in Fine Art specialising in painting. During this period Benjamin also developed an interest in photography, which he has maintained throughout his artistic career.
After completing his degree, Benjamin worked as a community based artist and was artistic coordinator / lead artist on an extensive range of projects which included adventure park design, media and advertisement projects, and the origination of an annual arts festival programme for the Greater Easterhouse area of Glasgow.
Before accepting a place on the Masters of Fine Art programme in the University of Ulster, Benjamin had continued to exhibit his work both within the U.K. and internationally. These exhibitions have included a range of artistic expression including site specific installation, sculpture, photography and painting.
