ARTISTS' STUDIOS
Queen Street Studio's (QSS) city centre resource is a vital system of support for professional artists' working within and from Belfast. We are committed to the exploration of various art forms and in developing the potential of new media within the arts. QSS strives to enhance the reputation of its artists' both at home and abroad through the provision of curator's visits, opportunities and regular information sharing.
QSS goals are to promote and facilitate individual creativity by professional artists' with the aim of achieving a high caliber of production. It is QSS objective to nurture the production of artwork that will enhance both a local, national international experience of the visual arts. Many of our artists' have carved a well-respected and longstanding career in the visual arts, whilst others are emerging in their field. We have also cultivated strong relationships with many like-minded organisations and have created many opportunities for students and graduates from the University of Ulster, Belfast. We have been active in promoting and curating group exhibitions of members work both nationally and internationally.
Queen Street Studio's currently has twenty-two studios of varying size and scale. Studios Rental is charged per square footage and inclusive of electricity. Membership offer's twenty-four hours access, seven days a week. Access to Internet facilities, image scanning and manipulation, a range of artists' equipment, kitchen facilities and communal area are all provided. We also have a small range of woodcutting, frame making and workshop equipment.
Queen Street Studios can also offer its membership a black/white and colour photographic printing facilities in our in house darkroom. We have a small bank of photographic equipment such as SLR cameras, tripods and copy camera facilities that are made available on loan.
